I am going off to college in a week and I broke up with my boyfriend who is going to the same college only three weeks ago. We are not on speaking terms right now but I think I might have contracted something from him and I am too embarrasesed to tell my folks so I am waiting to see the school doctor about it. My ex has a big mouth and I am quite sure he is aware that he has given me this and I am nervous he will try and mess up anything that might go on with meeting someone new by telling.

Unfortunately it sounds like you dated a jackass. No offence, but if you are truly worried about your ex's big mouth than he isn't the kind of stand-up guy you should be dating anyway. By now I'm sure you have already dealt with the issue at hand. All through college you are going to confront many people and situations that cause embarrassment and headache. The most important thing to do is be strong, keep your head held high and to learn from every experience.

Dear Advisor, The person I live with eats everything in the house. I go out and use my last money to buy food and in two days it is gone. The bathroom always smells like shit because he is dirty and smelly and never cleans it. He leaves pizza crusts on the living room floor and all over the tables. It sounds like you are in a predicament that everyone deals with at one time or another, the roommate from hell. If you have tried talking and moving is not an option than take it to the next step. If your roommate likes living in garbage and old pizza than clean the living room and move the trash into his room. As for eating all your food a suggestion is to buy a minifridge and put it in your bedroom. Personally and all of this my personal opinion and by no means do you have to follow my advice, but it may be time for a good old fashioned Ass Kicking.
